Russian Twist
Difficulty: Intermediate
The Russian twist is an ab exercise that focuses the obliques.

Step 1 - Starting PositionStart with body fully lifted off the mat but not fully vertical with your knees bent and your feet flat on the mat. You should be working your abs just to maintain this position. You can either put your arms straight out perpendicular to your body across your chest. |

Step 2 - TwistRotate as far as you can to one side. Pause and then rotate to the other. Repeat. Be sure to maintain the angle of your body to the mat. To avoid injuring your neck, make sure to keep move your head with your upper torso, keeping your neck in line with your spine. |
